Answer:
Yes. Aside from our on-premise store we offer
routine FREE bus transportation to several local
shopping areas on a weekly basis.

Must I (we) be Jewish to live at Ohav?
Answer:
No. While we are affiliated with Congregation Ohav
Shalom (adjacent to our building), we are a HUD equal opportunity
housing facility.
The Fair Housing Act
prohibits discrimination in housing because of race
or color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or
disability.
Question:
What safety features do the apartments have?
Answer:
Every bathroom has safety grab bars. In
addition, an emergency call system is located in every bathroom and
bedroom. If the call cord is pulled an alarm is sounded and the door lock to
your apartment will automatically unlock. This allows fast access by
emergency personnel. Ohav is staffed to respond to emergencies 24/7. In
an emergency 911 emergency services will be called. We are only 2 miles
from Saint Peter's Hospital, about 4 miles to Albany Medical Center and
within 15 miles of several other hospitals.

Can we have a pet?
Answer:
Small dogs or cats are accepted upon approval.
We have a weight restriction of 25 pounds. Please contact us for
specifics regarding approval and pet policies.
Question:
Is there a cap on my income, savings, or other assets?
Answer:
No, there is no cap on income. Please
contact our office regarding rental rates and possible rental subsidy.

Are there apartments that are handicap accessible?
Answer:
We will happy to discuss your individual
requirements.

Do I have to be a citizen?
Answer:
Yes, you have to be a citizen or have
legal immigrant status.

Can I have a car?
Answer:
Yes, we have ample off-street parking.

Can I control the heat (temperature) in
my apartment?
Answer:
Yes, a tenant controlled thermostat
is provided in each apartment. Heat is included in your rent.
Question:
Are the
apartments air conditioned?
Answer:
Each apartment is provided with a
means of installing a through-the-wall air conditioner. Ohav does not
provide apartment air conditioners. A small monthly fee for electricity
will be added to your rent if you do install air conditioning. All other
electricity is included in your rent. Common areas of Ohav are air
conditioned.
